ElderPet is a Community Partner of the leading national organization in the training and evaluating of therapy animal teams –Pet Partners®. Therapy teams visit hospital patients, assisted-living facility residents, libraries, schools and universities, rehab centers and others and bring the human-pet bond to them in many ways.
ElderPet wishes to move into the future meeting the needs of our growing community and the ever-changing economics of pet care.
With these services and goals in mind, the ElderPet all-volunteer Board of Directors is developing an Advisory Committee, looking for additional Board members (Must have been a volunteer in some capacity for at least a year.) and is working on beefing up its volunteer pool to help us secure ElderPet’s future and fulfill our mission. Do you have skills, energy, and ideas to share that will make a “Difference”? Energy and spirit are at the heart of our need. We realize there are many demands on our lives, but whatever time you can carve out to support our noble mission - keeping people and their pets together and continuing to provide wide access to therapy animal teams - would be most welcomed.
ElderPet is especially interested in attracting individuals for either our Advisory Committee or Board who have skills in financial planning, social media, web design, social work with our target population, veterinary care, public relations, care giving for seniors, those knowledgeable about public and Section 8 housing, and animal care.
